The Social Research Unit is collaborating with the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation to better understand how to scale what works in improving maternal health and reducing the mortality of under-5s in the developing world.
We are facilitating a series of convenings of experts on behalf of the foundation. These bring together policymakers, frontline practitioners, academics, social entrepeneurs and businesspeople who work in a wide range of fields to consider how we can more effectively scale what works in improving maternal health and reducing infant mortality. We are running the convenings on the basis of our ‘Common Language’ facilitation methodology – which is based on facilitating discussion based on knowledge that promotes more effective policy and practice.
We’ve prepared a synthesis of the first two convenings, available to download below. There will be a further two in 2013, following which we will be publishing a report summarising the learning from the series of convenings.
