The Dartington Service Design Lab – an internationally respected research charity dedicated to improving child outcomes – is seeking a passionate and like-minded Researcher to join our dynamic team. The candidate will enjoy a varied role, spanning child development and policy research, service design and public system reform.

To help deliver our vision, we are looking for a highly motivated, exceptional and well-qualified researcher (ideally with a Master’s degree in a relevant social science or a first-class undergraduate degree).

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Undertaking rapid reviews of evidence to inform service and system design;
  • Assisting with data collection, synthesis, management and analysis;
  • Preparing supporting materials for workshops, training and other events;
  • Drafting and refining reports, presentations and other dissemination outputs (including social media activities e.g. blogs, tweets etc.)

In particular, we require a highly organised and energetic self-starter with outstanding communication skills who is capable of quickly learning new competencies and adapting to different ways of working.

The position has a good degree of flexibility: as a team we largely operate remotely across England and Scotland, using online and video communication tools. The team members tend to work from home or together in co-working spaces (or out of our Devon office). We also regularly come together a whole team in our beautiful Devon office.
