Research Fellow (Service Design)

Location: Remotely (anywhere in UK)

Salary: £33,437 – £46,644 (NJC Band 5/6, Scale 3 -7 Spinal point 38 – 52) with generous pension and holiday allowance.

Hours of work: 35 hours per week; flexible and part-time working will be considered.

The Dartington Service Design Lab – an internationally respected research charity dedicated to improving child outcomes – is seeking a Research Fellow (Service Design) to join our team. The Lab is pioneering ways to reform and improve crucial services by blending user-centred and science-based design approaches. We’ll train the right candidate in our emerging methodologies. At the same time, you’ll be taking a lead on some of our most high-profile and exciting projects, and working with great partners.

 

You’ll be qualified to a minimum of Masters level or preferably PhD level in a relevant social science, and experienced in conducting high-quality quantitative and qualitative research, Key responsibilities include:

• Leading, innovating and refining methods of Service Design and Rapid Cycle Testing projects;

• Initiating, developing and maintaining positive relationships with clients, and managing large scale projects;

• Taking a lead role in creatively disseminating outputs and learning from the work;

 

You’ll be working remotely from home, or from our brand new offices in south Devon, with lots of contact and support from the Lab’s expert team. We’re looking for an energetic self-starter with outstanding communication skills, and a passion for improving outcomes, who is capable of quickly learning new competencies and adapting to different ways of working.
